Green Earth Volunteers

Founded in 1996, Green Earth Volunteers (GEV) in one of China's oldest local environmental NGOs.

In 2007 GEV formally registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs as the "Green Earth Environmental Scientific Research Centre". Many of our current projects focus on Water issues, including encouraging national cooperation on river protection, and we are part of the global water keepers alliance.

Our mission is to serve as a vehicle for grassroots public participation through encouraging volunteerism. We also support environmental journalism in China, with the goals of improving awareness of environmental issues and improving information disclosure.
