Founded in 1904 and listed on OMX Nordic Exchange Copenhagen, the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group operates in a wide spectrum of the maritime business.
The A.P. Moller – Maersk Group is the largest container liner operator in the world and a market leader in worldwide container services, agency, logistics and terminal activities under the renowned brand names of Maersk Line, Damco and Safmarine. The Group operates more than 500 container vessels and a total capacity of more than 2.1 million TEUS and owns about 15% market share.
In the terminals segment, APM Terminals is the fourth largest operator of container terminals, after Hutchison Port Holding, PSA International and Dubai Ports World. APM Terminals develops and operates container terminals and related activities and is globally engaged in more than 50 terminals and terminal projects in 34 countries.
The Group is also active in the tankers, offshore and oil and gas activities, where it participates in the production of oil and gas and offers solutions for the transport of crude oil, refined products and gas; it also supplies various offshore supply vessel, drilling and production activities; and provides salvage and towage activities under the brand names Maersk Tankers, Maersk Supply Service, Maersk Drilling, Maersk FPSOs, Maersk LNG, Svitzer and Norfolkline.

Sustainability is a key business strategy for us at A.P. Moller - Maersk. We aim to integrate it into all our business processes and make it a competitive advantage. A clear governance structure has been established to drive us towards this goal, and a number of group-wide programmes were approved in 2010 for global roll-out beginning 2011.
